LeRoy Anderson

is a co-owner of Kern Funeral Home along with his children, Connie Le Sourd and Eric (Rick) Anderson. He started work at Kern Funeral Home in 1947 under Mr. Coy Kern, the founder of the business. Later, in 1950 LeRoy and a partner bought the business from Mr. Kern. LeRoy was a licensed funeral director and apprentice embalmer until his retirement in 2003 after 56 years of service. LeRoy, a life long Skagit County resident is a member of Salem Lutheran Church, Vasa Lodge, and long time member of the Hugo Helmer Accordion Band.

 

 

Connie Le Sourd

is co-owner of Kern Funeral Home along with her father, LeRoy Anderson and her brother, Rick Anderson. She is secretary/treasurer of the company, however, much of her time is dedicated to taking care of families and funeral arrangements on a daily basis. Connie and her husband, John have three children and live in La Conner. Connie is a member of Salem Lutheran Church and Vasa Lodge in Mount Vernon. She has been with Kern Funeral Home since 1989.

 

 

Eric (Rick) Anderson

is a co-owner of Kern Funeral Home. Rick earned an Associate Arts Degree in business from Spokane Community College and attended Western Washington University prior to obtaining his funeral directors license in 1997. He has been with Kern Funeral Home and Mount Vernon Cemetery since 1987 as cemetery manager and Vice President of the family business. Rick and his wife, Jane, reside in La Conner with their two children. Rick is a member of Fir-Conway Lutheran Church and the La Conner Booster Club.

 

 

Edward (Ed) Brigge

is a licensed funeral director and embalmer. He is licensed in both Washington and California. Ed received his Associate Arts Degree from Sierra College in Rocklin, California and is a graduate of California College of Mortuary Science in Los Angeles, California. Ed is a member of Salem Lutheran Church, the Mount Vernon Elks Lodge, Mount Vernon Moose Lodge, American Legion of Sedro Woolley, Eagles Lodge of Burlington and the Free and Accepted Masons in Auburn, California. Ed has been with Kern Funeral Home since 1981. Ed has since retired as of December 2006. You can still find Ed at Kern Funeral Home as he works part time when needed.

 

 

Rex E. Watt

is a licensed funeral director at Kern Funeral Home. He received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Classics from San Francisco State University and has had seventeen years of experience in the funeral industry as both a funeral director and cemetery manager. He assists families in the arrangement of funeral services and counsels families in pre-planning and pre-funding their funeral services. Rex lives in Bellingham with his wife, four children and four step-children. He is also a member of Redeemer-Lutheran Church in Bellingham where he is an adult Sunday school teacher and elder.

 

 

Jeremiah T. Le Sourd

is the third generation to join the family business. He has been at Kern Funeral Home since June of 2000. He was born and raised in Skagit County and graduated from La Conner High School prior to attending mortuary college. He has completed his Associate of Arts Degree in applied Science and Funeral Service Education at Mount Hood Community College in Gresham, Oregon. Jeremiah recently obtained his funeral directors license and embalming certification. Jeremiah is an avid baseball fan and has been actively involved locally, coaching Junior Legion baseball.
