John Thomas McBride, 77, of Bellevue, Washington passed unexpectedly on May 1, 2017.  John was born in Boise, Idaho to John and Margaret McBride on July 24, 1939.  After graduating from Meridian High School, in Boise, John served in the Navy for four years.  After his military service he attended Boise College.  While in college he met and married Arlene Kibby on February 19, 1961.  John and Arlene had two children in their nine years together: Scott, born in 1962 and Tonja, born in 1964.  After community college he worked construction doing road maintenance and later worked for a finance company where he met and married Carolyn.  John became a father to Carolyn’s sons, Bruce and Brian, and they relocated to Edmonds, Washington. He worked on the Alaska pipe line then on oil rigs in Venezuela and off the coast of Louisiana, finally retiring at the Boeing Company as a mechanic.

John loved RVing, camping, fishing, hunting, and gardening, rock hounding and being with his family, friends and his furry friends.  He was a fun loving, very witty, smart person and always shared the best stories, jokes and one-liners!  He made us laugh and smile.  John Thomas McBride, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend will be sorely missed by all.  John was a lifetime member and very involved in the Sno-Valley Senior Center in Carnation, WA where he volunteered and made many friends.  John is preceded in death by his father, John Edward McBride; mother, Margaret Helen McBride; sister, Mary Margaret Lorah; brother in law, Leon Evans; step son, Bruce Kelley and ex-wife Carolyn.  John is survived by his son, Scott Allen McBride (Angella, and their son, Joshua); daughter, Tonja Hill (Darren, and their children Sabrina Hill and Lauren DeLaurenti (Derek, and their children, Mia and Jayden); step daughter in law, Rochelle and her sons, Eric and Ryan; step son Brian (Susan, and their children Skyler and Peyton); sister Joan Evans; brother in law, Joe Lorah; and girlfriend, Carol Nelson.
